Collection: unscented taper candles for your tabletops
Taper Candles FAQs
Taper candles are tall, thin cylindrical shaped candles and provide more illumination than any other type of candle. For this reason, they are often a staple in emergency preparedness kits and perfect for power outages. Taper candles need to be placed in a candle holder, also called a candlestick, for them to be held upright. When burned properly (upright and away from drafts) GoodLight tapers have the added benefit of being dripless. Taper candles are often used on dining tables for special occasions, although we like to use them for everyday dinners.
The best taper candles are paraffin-free and made from natural plant-based wax like palm wax or beeswax. GoodLight tapers are white and unscented and come in three sizes: 4 inch, 8 inch, and 10 inch and they vary in burn times from 3 to 9 hours. An additional quality that makes GoodLight tapers the best taper candles is the fact that they are dripless when they remain upright and free from drafts when burned.
Taper candles come in various lengths. GoodLight offers three lengths of tapers: 4 inch, 8 inch, and 10 inch. The burn time of the taper varies depending on length of the candle. Our 4 inch taper candle (which we also refer to as a Shabbat or ceremony candle), burns for 4 hours. The 8 and 10 inch tapers burn for 7 and 9 hours, respectively.
GoodLight taper candles are made to be dripless; however, they are only dripless if they remain straight and upright in the candle holder and are burned in an area that is free from drafts.
