The sustainability of our materials
Candle vessels that are just as thoughtfully made as the candles themselves. Our glass vessels and aluminum candle tins are selected for their durability, versatility, and sustainability credentials –materials that can be recycled repeatedly without degradation. Our ceramic candle jars are equally enduring, designed to be re-loved and repurposed for years to come.
Whether reused around the home or responsibly recycled, every vessel is designed to support a circular lifecycle that continues long after the wax is gone.

THE OVEN METHOD FOR CLEANING GLASS & CERAMICS
For removing leftover wax, the oven method for candle jars is one of the easiest ways to prepare vessels for reuse.
Start by preheating your oven on its lowest temperature (200 ºF is ideal). Ensure the wick clip has been removed before placing the vessel on a baking sheet and into the oven for about 10 minutes. Using oven mitts, remove the vessel from the oven. From there, cleaning candle wax from the vessel is as easy as wiping it with a paper towel.
Why plant-based scents matter (for clarity)
We use pure essential oils and other botanical oils to create the rich plant-based scents of our scented candles. While scientific research supports the cognitive benefits of many plant-derived essential oils, what’s equally important is what’s not in our formulas. Conventional scented candles often rely on paraffin-based fragrances and other synthetic ingredients, which have raised concerns around indoor air quality and long-term exposure. By prioritizing nontoxic candle scents, we help create a cleaner candle experience while supporting the safe and sustainable reuse of our vessels long after the final burn.
How to recycle or compost your GoodLight candle components
Intention in every ingredient – all the way down to the compostable candle wax and wick, suitable for any industrial/municipal composting program. For how to recycle candle tins or any of the other GoodLight vessels, refer to the handy guide below:
-
WAX & COTTON WICKS
Palm wax is 100% plant-based & compostable in most composting facilities.
-
GLASS JARS & ALUMINUM TINS
Recyclable in standard curbside glass & metal bins once cleaned.
-
PAPERBOARD BOXES
Made from recycled materials & 100% recyclable.
-
Can you recycle tea light cups?
-
Yes! Our tea light cups are made with aluminum, an infinitely recyclable material. For recycling aluminum candle cups, make sure the tiny metal wick clip that anchors the wick to the bottom and the leftover wax are fully removed.
Reuse. Re-purpose. Repeat.
